Does Removing Negative Items Increase FICO Score?

If you’ve started the credit repair process and you’re wondering how much your FICO score will improve by, then this article is for you.

Unfortunately, we haven’t cracked the code for computing FICO scores.

However, we do know which items greatly impact your credit score: age of accounts, variety of accounts (installment loan, mortgage, revolving account), debt to credit ratio, derogatory items, and inquiries.

When derogatory items are removed and your debt is decreased, your FICO score greatly improves.

However, the older the account is, the more likely you’ll take a drop in your credit score for a short period of time since age makes up 15% of your credit score.
